When we connect to our OpenVPN server currently using the OpenVPN client we connect with only a username and password. It doesn't appear that this is an option with Viscosity. Am I missing something - although I check the box for this in the set up it still is requesting that define a CA, etc.

Hi jrussell,

OpenVPN connections require at least a shared secret key or a CA certificate so the client can identify the server it is connecting to. This is a minimum requirement of OpenVPN. Your current connection will require this. Most likely your current configuration file has a CA or Secret embedded into it if you have not seen a certificate or key with the configuration.

We would highly recommend importing your current configuration if you are unsure on this as Viscosity will automatically import any embedded certificates which should allow you to connect as soon as the import is finished.

If you are still unsure, please send us an email with your original configuration file you have been using and we can take a look.

Regards,

Eric
