Hi,

I am new to VPN and Viscosity also.

I am having trouble connecting to my work VPN.
I follow the steps given to me by the IT guys at work but no one knows how to fix my connection.

I have tried reinstalling multiple times.
Here is a copy of what keeps repeating in my connection log:

Jan 12 08:07:36: TCP: connect to [AF_INET]216.16.231.94:1249 failed, will try again in 5 seconds: The system tried to join a drive to a directory on a joined drive.
Jan 12 08:07:51: TCP: connect to [AF_INET]216.16.231.94:1249 failed, will try again in 5 seconds: The system tried to join a drive to a directory on a joined drive.

If someone can help with this issue; I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Eric

Hi vsookrah,

What Operating System are you using?
Do you know what type of server you are trying to connect to? Is this an Astaro firewall?
Are you able to send us a copy of your complete log and a copy of your config file (exported from Viscosity). For you privacy, you may wish to email this to us at https://www.sparklabs.com/support/#contact.

Regards,

Eric

Hi,

Sorry for reanimating this thread, but no solution was posted here. I am also having this issue. Are either of you able to shed light on this issue?

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Unfortunately this error usually has nothing to do with the actual message. It is most prominent on older Astaro gateways, an update usually fixes it.

Otherwise, the issue is usually that a firewall or proxy is blocking the connection. This can be on your end, or your VPN Providers end. Try connecting with all your firewalls disabled. It can also mean that the port for the connection has changed. If you do not manage the server you are connecting to, we recommend you contact your VPN Provider to check all your connection information is correct - http://www.sparklabs.com/support/how_do ... _my_vpn_p/
