I had to quit having V start on startup. I can turn it on after startup and after I'm connected but not before. Is there a fix for this?

Hi SallyOh,

I'm afraid I'm not exactly sure of the difficulty you are facing. Are you trying to have Viscosity connect after you login and it's failing? Are you able to send us a copy of the OpenVPN log when it fails? Or does Viscosity not attempt to start at login at all?

Eric

Hi Eric,

For the past few days, since the update, my computer wouldn't connect to the internet. I can tell by Skype. Once I quit Viscosity, it would connect immediately. So I set V preferences to not run on start up.

Once I was online, I could start V and everything was fine.

Today, Skype wouldn't connect even with V not running. I restarted and still no. Out of curiosity, I started V and Skype connected immediately. Argh.

But now V won't connect my VPN. Now it says my username and password has been reset. I logged onto iPredator and connected just fine, still have 3 months on this subscription, so I know that is working.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Sally

I just tried connecting to iPredator via V and it connected. What's up? Is there a bug? Thanks.

I had some problems with IPRedator myself today. It was not accepting the password first, then disconnected and could not connect. Now it seems to work alright. I guess it was the problem on IPRedator side.

Like any service provider, VPN Providers can have issues from time to time. We recommend you contact iPredator in the case of service disruptions as they are in a much better position to assist you with these problems, please see the following for more information - http://www.sparklabs.com/support/how_do ... _my_vpn_p/

I have to disable Viscosity in order to get online. Then I can connect it. Today I cannot get online with V at all. I can login to iPredator but Viscosity won't connect. Actually, it connects then disconnects immediately, then keeps trying to reconnect. I have to disconnect to get online.

Any ideas?

It could be IPredator itself. Since their servers are located in Sweden, someone from the US might not have the greatest connection/speed

I was trying out IPredator with Viscosity(been searching around for a decent VPN) for my torrent needs before my current VPN subscription ran out. I love Viscosity, especially the fact that it has a script capability to shutdown a program should your VPN get disconnected. I never really had problems as far as disconnections, but when I ran V with IPredator, I could torrent fine, but I could not access a webpage for the life of me.

I am using BTGuard (like I said, was trying out IPredator before my current subscription ran out) and find BTGuard suitable for me as it has a Canadian server which works well for my being in Ohio. I just created a new connection from file, found my current BTGuard Canadian .ovpn file, and setup the options/preferences for that file through viscosity to that similar to IPredator's file. Went to connect and logged in with my BTGuard Credentials and I don't have any problems as far as internet connection/browsing.

Hi SallyOh,

Can you please post up a copy of your OpenVPN log from a failed connect/reconnect or disconnect and we can have a look at what is going on.

As above though, contacting iPredator is the best course of action for a quick resolution to your issue.
