I'm wondering if any thought has been put into improving the UI for configuring routes? As it is now, we're given a tiny scroll box that lists a connection's routes under the Networking tab. It's hard to see all of a connection's defined routes and it's not completely intuitive to modify an existing route (e.g., there are no dropdowns to select a gateway or IP version as there are when you create a route).

More importantly, there are some routes I've got configured that would ideally be defined as global routes whenever a VPN connection is in use… or which could apply to multiple connections. I'm thinking of routes that would let me access my LAN while I'm connected to specific VPN connections that otherwise attempt to route all traffic through the VPN, or routes that would force traffic to specific IP addresses through my company's VPN when I've got multiple connections active.

Finally, an option to export routes and import them for use with another connection would be helpful if the idea of global routes or selectable-routes-per-connection can't work. I've got a bunch of the same routes set up for several of my VPN connections that have to be duplicated every time I configure (or reconfigure) a new connection from the same VPN provider. Doing this manually is tedious and error prone.

Hope this makes sense!

Hi fonginator.

Thanks for the constructive feedback - it's much appreciated. We certainly agree that the route editor needs and overhaul, and we do have some future design ideas in mind. Adding shared routes to connection folders is also something we could look into.

Thanks,
James
