Hi All,

We have been seeing an influx in support requests from users in China who are using Viscosity and are unable to establish a connection. Please note that this is not a problem with Viscosity. It appears the Chinese government is trying to restrict access to the VPN servers of certain VPN Service Providers. This is not uncommon in countries with high levels of censorship.

Confirmed affected VPN Service Providers include: WiTopia, 12vpn, and StrongVPN. It is likely that many others are affected as well.

If you are one of these users please get in touch with your VPN Service Provider's support staff for information and available workarounds. If you are unsure who your VPN Service Provider is please see here. We have included contact details below of two of the most popular providers in case their websites are blocked as well:

WiTopia:

General Information: [email protected]
Technical Support: [email protected]

12vpn:

Technical Support: [email protected]

Finally, please note that we here at SparkLabs can not offer any further information from our end. We are not affiliated with VPN Service Providers, so please get in touch with your provider directly.

Cheers,
James
