I have to temporarily use another laptop to run Viscosity to log into a remove VPN connection. I copied over the relevant files from a recent backup to the relevant locations. But when I try to open the connection, it disconnects immediately. The log shows the following error:

2019-08-20 08:49:23: Connection is reachable. Starting connection attempt.
2019-08-20 08:49:24: Options error: You must define CA file (--ca) or CA path (--capath)
2019-08-20 08:49:24: The OpenVPN subsystem could not be started.
2019-08-20 08:49:24: State changed to Disconnected

I have defined the ca.crt file and other files asked for. I have changed permissions on the files to be rw only for the .crt files, but I am not sure what else I need to do?

Hi EAJ,

If you are manually copying/moving files into place you'll need to quit and re-opened Viscosity to get it to see the changes.

You may prefer to import the configuration into Viscosity, that way configuration data, files, permissions, etc. will all be correct. To do this open Viscosity's preferences window, click on the "+" button, and select Import Connection->From File. Then select the folder your connection/s are in (i.e. your backed up connections): Viscosity will automatically search the folder and any subfolders for connections and import any it finds.

Cheers,
James
