Hi,

I recently switched to your app from Tunnelblick. I like it.

But niw, i got this update error:

Viscosity does not have permission to write to the application's directory! Are you running off a disk image? If not, ask your system administrator for help.

I am not running this fro a disk image.

In Consloe, i got those errors:

30.10.08 08:28:19 Viscosity[43161] .sdef error: Operation could not be completed. (NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 1549.)
30.10.08 08:28:19 Viscosity[43161] line number: 2
30.10.08 08:28:19 Viscosity[43161] .sdef error: Operation could not be completed. (NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 1549.)
30.10.08 08:28:19 Viscosity[43161] line number: 2

Any Suggestions?

Hi pascal,

Well there are two possibilites that spring to mind:

a) Sparkle (the update backend) coundn't aquire admin rights to install the new version. This might happen if you update Viscosity when logged in as a normal user and click the Cancel button when prompted for an admin username/password.

b) An instance of OpenVPN was still running in the background, and so Sparkle couldn't get rid of it. If this was the case, a reboot, and then trying to update again should fix the issue. We actually have an experimental build of Viscosity in the works that will automatically kill any stuck OpenVPN processes, which should eliminate this possibility from occurring in future versions.

Cheers
