Hi billdog, Well firstly it looks like the DNS restore script (dnsdown) isn't running for you. This is a little strange as this script should run whenever your connection disconnects (which is what happens when your computer goes to sleep). You could try editing your connection in Viscosity, going t...

Hi philby,
It sounds like you probably have a routing clash on your hands, rather than a DNS issue. The following article should help you resolve it:

Hi Olivier, If the OpenVPN server rejects a username and password supplied from the Keychain, Viscosity will assume they are no longer valid and reset them (and then re-prompt you for your login details). There is no current way to instruct Viscosity to stop assuming this. A (complicated) work aroun...

Hi Kevin,
Would you be able to post a copy of the OpenVPN config file Viscosity has generated? You can find it at the location below. Please feel free to censor out any sensitive addresses etc. first.
Your Home Folder/Library/Application Support/Viscosity/OpenVPN/#/config.conf
Cheers,
James

Would you be able to post a copy of your OpenVPN log covering a sleep/wake cycle? It will be interesting to see whether the DNS scripts are running. Instructions for accessing the log can be found at the link below (you may want to censor your server address before posting in on the forums): http://...

Hi opet, As far as I am aware no VPN provider will go out of their way to support selective routing. However you'll be able to achieve it whether it is officially supported or not (although getting it to work is not trivial). I've outlined how you can accomplish this: • Firstly you'll need to overri...

Hi billdog, Is this just something you're seeing with the latest version of Viscosity, or have you seen it in past versions as well? Do you by chance have "Alternate DNS Support" turned on under Preferences->Advanced? Only Viscosity's normal DNS support deals with DHCP renewals correctly, ...

You can ignore "/etc/resolv.conf" as barely anything on Mac OS X uses it. What you need to do is create files in the "/etc/resolver" directory (not entries in the resolv.conf file). You should be able to find some tutorials by Googleing "/etc/resolver" or "split DN...

Hi Susan, This is something you'd be best contacting your VPN provider about, rather than on the Viscosity forums. You can find out who your VPN provider is here . Viscosity is software that allows you to connect to a VPN server running OpenVPN. A number of third party VPN Service providers bundle V...
