Thanks for the follow up James. I didn't see your reply right away. I guess I don't have forum notifications enabled.

In any case, I updated to your latest beta yesterday and have successfully kept an open connection for over 24 hours. Looks like your fix works.

Thanks again for your help.

Unfortunately I got the same authentication error. This is after making the recommended config changes under suggestion #1, connecting, then waiting. So I guess I should try recommendation #2? It seems less desirable to make server side changes. Also, I just got a notification of 1.7.10b3 (under the...

Thanks for getting back to me James.

I'll try option #1 and leave it running overnight to test it.

Hi all, We've been using OpenVPN and Viscosity successfully at our office for quite a while. We recently deployed a new OpenVPN 2.5.2 server at a remote location. This is an Access Server, not the Community Edition, in case that's relevant. While things are largely working, we're seeing that connect...

Hopefully the triggers angle pans out, when you guys get a chance to look at it. If you revisit it I doubt you'll find any security related issues. If it's OK to start your service automatically at boot, then it's should be OK to start it when your client tries to use your named pipe (assuming you h...

Hi Eric, Thanks for your continued support. No, we didn't use WAS. The technique we used is called "Service Trigger Events". For our service this amounted to adding a sub-key in the registry at install time named "TriggerInfo" contains the setup parameters needed by "Service...

Thanks for getting back to me. I realize that this problem is probably rare. But it affected the very first Windows offsite employee of ours (a Windows developer) who tried to use Viscosity. My hope is that it does not affect our other Windows users. Our service is also privileged. Our work around w...

I'll look into using one of these third party tools. But it seems like this specific feature should be possible to implement in Viscosity alone (resources permitting, of course). Presumably the VPN server provides a list of subnets to the client. Viscosity could compare the subnets that the machine ...

We're evaluating Viscosity as a replacement client for our current VPN. Unfortunately we're seeing an issue where the service is not starting reliably after a reboot. Basically the Viscosity service fails to start up quickly enough and Windows 10 tells it to shut down. We've tried using the “Automat...

Hi all, We're in the process of moving our office VPN from IPSEC to OpenVPN. The current Mac client we're using for IPSEC is VPNTracker. I'm exploring OpenVPN clients. So far I really like Viscosity, but I'd like to see it do a better job of disconnecting and reconnecting seamlessly when we move our...
