Retrieving Your Receipt Or Transaction Number

If you need to make an enquiry about your Viscosity license you may be requested to provide your "transaction number" (also known as the "receipt number" for PayPal payments) as proof of ownership and purchase.

Please read the following sections if you're unsure what number is your transaction number and how to retrieve it, or what to do if you have lost your transaction number.

Please note that the transaction/receipt number is not the same as your serial number, invoice number, PO number, or details on your credit card statement. These details cannot be accepted as proof of ownership and purchase.

Option 1: Transaction Number At Checkout

Immediately after making a payment through our online store, your transaction number will be displayed. We recommend you take note of the details displayed here either by printing the page, saving a copy or writing down this number.

Option 2: Receipt Email

A receipt will be emailed to you from [email protected] to the billing email address you entered when purchasing (in most cases this is the same email address you received your license at). This email contains your transaction number which we can use to locate your purchase. Please refer to your email records for a copy of this email. Don't forget to check any Spam or Junk Mail filters if this is for a recent purchase.

For PayPal purchases, Discover card payments, along with all purchases made prior to October 2016, the receipt email will instead come from PayPal. This email will contain either a "transaction number" or a "receipt number" for the purchase, which can be provided to us. For Coinbase (Bitcoin) purchases, the receipt email will instead from from Coinbase. It will contain the transaction number, which can be provided to us.

Please enter your billing email address below to resend the receipt email for any matching purchases. This form can only be used to resend receipt emails for purchases made in the last 90 days.

Option 3: PayPal Account

If you made your payment using a PayPal account, you can retrieve the transaction/receipt number by logging into your PayPal account.

If you purchased Viscosity within the last two years, follow these instructions:

  1. Login to your PayPal Account and select "Activity".
  2. Using the search options, locate your Viscosity Purchase. You are looking for a payment made to SparkLabs Pty Ltd.
  3. Click on the purchase once you have located it. Your Transaction ID or Receipt Number will be displayed once the purchase has expanded.

If you purchased Viscosity more than two years ago, you will need to download your purchase history. To do this:

  1. Login to your PayPal Account and select "Activity".
  2. On the right of this page, click "Statements" then click "Activity export" in the drop down menu, or "Custom" if "Download detailed statements" appears.
  3. Change the "Date range" to dates around your purchase, select PDF under "Format" then click Create Report.
  4. Open the downloaded file, then search for your SparkLabs purchase. The easiest way to do this is with Find (Ctrl+F on Windows, Command+F on Mac). The Transaction ID or Receipt Number will be displayed under the purchase name.

Option 4: Contact Support

If you have lost your transaction/receipt number, and none of the above options help, then you may be able to recover it by providing your payment details to our support staff.

Payments Made Using Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or ApplePay

Please contact us with the following information so we can locate your purchase. These details must exactly match the details used for the purchase, and we cannot accept numerous attempts at guessing the details.

  • Billing Name
  • Billing Address
  • Date of Purchase
  • Last 4 (four) digits of Credit Card used

Please Note: This only applies to purchases made during or after October 2016. If you purchased Viscosity prior to this please follow the instructions below.

Payments Made Using PayPal, Discover, or Before October 2016

If you don't have a PayPal account, or you have been unable to retrieve your Transaction ID or Receipt Number, you can contact PayPal directly to obtain a copy of the payment receipt. You will need to provide the following information:

  • Credit card number
  • Name on the credit card
  • Purchase amount
  • Date of purchase
