When I'm connected to my VPN, I can't resolve any websites, but I can connect to IP addresses just fine. I've tried all of the DNS mode options and none of them fix this issue. I've tried manually specifying the config's DNS servers in the networking tab and that didn't work. I've tried adding "route-delay 20" and that doesn't work. When I try to connect, Viscosity says my IP address 169.254.*.*. I can connect with the regular OpenVPN client fine, but I can't resolve addresses with Viscosity.

Here is my ipconfig -all:

Hi Computer,

Please disable any other TAP adapters you have on the system (for example the adapter that comes with OpenVPN Community Edition) and try connecting with Viscosity again.

Eric

Having the same issue, every VPN connection I connect to destroys DNS lookups.

How do you disable TAP adaptors? Did a Google, but nothing came up

Hi djlk,

Search for "View Network Connections" from your Start Menu, then you can right click and disable adapters.

This sounds like you may have a different issue then, please feel free to post a copy of your log and we can take a look - https://sparklabs.com/support/kb/article/viewing-the-openvpn-log/

Eric
