Hi guys,

firstly, thanks for making a great software!

We have a problem with the automatic installation (Samba 4/AD GPO) of Viscosity 1.4.6. We rebundled it with our license and settings. That works fine.

The problem is, that the installation writes to the local APPDATA under C:\users\username\appdata...

Unfortunately we store our APPDATA serverside \\server\username\appdata...

Therefore after reboot the package cannot find the Viscosity Appdata folder. If I copy it by hand to the server, then it works again. Obviously that sucks, if you have to to that manually on every computer.

Is there a way to tell Viscosity installation to store the data in the server location instead of the local Appdata folder? Maybe before bundling, inside the settings.xml?

Thanks for any reply,
Martin

Hi Martin,

The installation should be writing the prefconfigure folder to %appdata%. You can change this in the installation itself in the setup.iss file included in the bundle folder. You should see a line in the [Files] section to where Preconfigure is written too, you may have to set this manually if the setup is having problems correctly locating your APPDATA folder.

If you're still having problems or having problems configuring the setup.iss file, please shoot us an email with your setup.iss file and we can have a look.
