Hi,I was using Ipredator with PPTP and was getting aprox 55 mbps dl speed, but i decided to buy
Viscosity to see how it was.
I followed the ipredator setup instructions and got connected, but the only problem is the download speed
is really slow aprox between 2 and 3 mbps, which makes it pretty usless if i want to download a file of any
substantial size.Any idea why it's so slow compared to the PPTP.
Thanks in advance for any help.
PS.My download speed with my ISP is 75mbps.

Hi tommy,

VPN Speeds are very dependant on a number of factors. OpenVPN is going to be slightly slower than PPTP because it has a much higher form of encryption and security, but certainly nowhere near as slow as you are experiencing. Usually the problem is the server your connecting too, it can be problems with the server, the server could have a too many users connected to it, or simply its location. Have you only tried the one iPredator server or have you tried several?

We do recommend you contact iPredator in these instances as they can help you to make sure the connection is setup correctly, as well as assisting you with the closest or fastest server to connect to depending on your location.

Regards,

Eric
