viscosity windows not remembering password
Got a problem with Viscosity or need help? Ask here!
Actually think i finally solved it, while trying to solve another issue
We currently run roaming profiles, and computers with this issue is using windows 8.1 , and seems like there was an issue introduced with a Windows update . (And it does not help that we currently use an old Samba server set to be replaced as soon as possible)
By adding the following registry key an issue with Chrome not storing passwords was solved, and then I noticed that now also Viscosity can store passwords and users in the LoginInfo.xml file:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Protect\Providers\df9d8cd0-1501-11d1-8c7a-00c04fc297eb]
"ProtectionPolicy"=dword:00000001
At least for us adding this registry key seems to have solved the issue
As far as I can tell the Windows Update causing this is KB2992611 or KB3000850
