When I try to connect, I get a window requiring me to enter a username and password. I have never created these for OpenVPN. What do i have to do?

Hi Roband57,

If this is an OpenVPN setup you've created yourself it may mean that the "Use Username/Password authentication" checkbox is ticked when it isn't required. Un-ticking this option (under the Authentication tab when editing your connection in Viscosity) should allow you to connect if that's the case.

However if you've been provided with your connection by a VPN Provider, it may mean that a username and password are required. You'll need to get in touch with your VPN Provider to find out the correct details to enter. Please see:

Thank you James.
All I had to do was use my credentials from private Internet Access and be a little bit more patient. Because it took so long to connect, I assumed that was not he password that was requested.
Tried it again today, but was called away while waiting . Two minutes later when I came back, I was connected.
I have saved the ID and Psw in my keychain and I am OK now.

Thanks for your assistance
