OpenVPN on Tomato

Hello,

I've been attempting to setup OpenVPN with Tomato Firmware to use with Viscosity. I'm doing this on my router (Netgear Nighthawk) and have been unsuccessful so far. I came across the DD-WRT instructions and wondered if there were instructions somewhere for Tomato or if it's just a better idea to switch to DD-WRT. Is DD-WRT better for running a VPN? Thank you for any help?

Hi bchaffin,

I'm afraid we don't currently have a guide available for Tomato, however we'll add it to our list of options for future guides. While we have a guide available for DD-WRT, I doubt there are any major differences between Tomato and DD-WRT from an OpenVPN server perspective.

As for getting going with Tomato, the tricky part seems to be to generate the files you need to enter into its webpage. It looks like there are a number of general setup tutorials available online (Googling "tomato openvpn server" seems to do the trick) that should help point you in the right direction, or you can refer to our support article below for help generating the files you need:
