Hi,

I just purchased Viscosity and am trying to get it off the ground. So far, though, it is not able to connect to any of the VPNs. Here's what the log looks like:

Fri Jan 22 16:35:06 2010: LZO compression initialized
Fri Jan 22 16:35:06 2010: RESOLVE: NOTE: vpn.hkg.witopia.net resolves to 4 addresses, choosing one by random
Fri Jan 22 16:35:06 2010: UDPv4 link local: [undef]
Fri Jan 22 16:35:06 2010: UDPv4 link remote: 213.254.213.40:1194
Fri Jan 22 16:35:17 2010: [vpn] Peer Connection Initiated with 213.254.213.40:1194
Fri Jan 22 16:35:19 2010: Options error: Unrecognized option or missing parameter(s) in [PUSH-OPTIONS]:4: topology (2.0.9)
Fri Jan 22 16:35:19 2010: gw 192.168.1.1
Fri Jan 22 16:35:19 2010: Cannot allocate TUN/TAP dev dynamically

I think I've got routing problems, but even when I open the Advanced tab in Preferences, there is no field for me to enter a command. I only have the option of clicking three boxes: "Use alternate DNS support," "Keep original certificate...," "Reset network interfaces on disconnect."

Any ideas?

Hi Co,

Firstly try changing your OpenVPN version to 2.1 (under Preferences->Advanced) as it looks like you may be using version 2.0.9.

Secondly, the line "Cannot allocate TUN/TAP dev dynamically" seems to imply a permissions error. Make sure Viscosity is installed in your Applications folder, and try restarting your computer.

If you are still having problems, try asking WiTopia for a new copy of the config file for you to import into Viscosity.

Cheers,
James
