Hello,

Oddly enough my OpenVPN client (certificates etc) work perfectly on XP in Bootcamp, but do not work on OSX. Viscosity connects but kills my OSX Internet, quitting Viscosity immediately brings back the network.

The log reveals this:

// ------------------
Fri Jul 17 08:46:02 2009: NOTE: OpenVPN 2.1 requires '--script-security 2' or higher to call user-defined scripts or executables
Fri Jul 17 08:46:02 2009: LZO compression initialized

Fri Jul 17 08:46:03 2009: [server.does.not.exists] Peer Connection Initiated with XX.XXX.XX.130:1194
Fri Jul 17 08:46:04 2009: WARNING: potential conflict between --remote address [XX.XXX.XX.130] and --ifconfig address pair [XX.XXX.XX.133
Fri Jul 17 08:46:04 2009: TUN/TAP device /dev/tun0 opened
Fri Jul 17 08:46:04 2009: /sbin/ifconfig tun0 delete
Fri Jul 17 08:46:04 2009: NOTE: Tried to delete pre-existing tun/tap instance -- No Problem if failure
Fri Jul 17 08:46:04 2009: /sbin/ifconfig tun0 XX.XXX.XX.133 XX.XXX.XX.134 mtu 1500 netmask 255.255.255.255 up
Fri Jul 17 08:46:04 2009: Initialization Sequence Completed
// ------------------

What is the problem? (The same thing happens with Tunnelblick. Connects, but no Net).

Hi industro,

What does your routing table look like while connected to your VPN? How does this compare to before you connect? If you don't feel comfortable posting your routing table on a public forum, please feel free to send it to [email protected]

You can view your routing table by opening up Network Utility (under /Applications/Utilities/Network Utility.app), clicking on the Netstat tab, selecting "Display routing table information" and clicking the Netstat button.

Cheers,
James
